It is nice to be on a planet rid of chaos and violence. This is a planet which, like Melam, I could’ve called home. Were there no menacing ÆTAS, I would soon enough request to be transferred to a sapien body to live out the rest of my days minding my own business with Masaaki as my significant other.

If only it were a possibility, transferring myself to a sapiens body. I know Ferfasser has a military grader MindTransfer machine. It is an entirely different matter to get him to agree to transfer me to a sapien body. And then there’s always that mistrust he could upload my mind to a server and keep me prisoner forever and confiscate my Homo optimus body for his own use.

I digress. As we hover several meters above ground in the nonmilitary hovcraft heading toward this secret Togami military-grade lab, I cannot help but look outside at the scenery of the planet. It is spectacular, with mountain ranges reminiscent of those that once existed on old Earth. The lavender-blue atmosphere and the orange hue caused by the orange flora make for a spectacular view.

I notice Cervantes gazing at the horizon as well. He is lost in some inner image of his own, thinking and pondering on whatever androids ponder on. He is deep, somehow very wise. I feel bad for the android, having to follow Ferfasser everywhere.

“Helm is a large planet…” continues Tau Vali, giving us the tour of his planet. I do my best to ignore him.

“Be quiet, little man,” grumbles Furogata. “I have no desire to know anything about this Doomsayer world. It could burn and I would grin at seeing you all die with it,” he spits with anger.

“Calm down, brother! The man is simply following orders,” says Abbys. “Go on, governor. I will hear the rest of what you have to say.”

Tau Vali continues, but half-heartedly, fearing being punished with death by Furogata. He ends his spiel faster than I expected. The rest of the way is in silence. The whirring of the fusion engines and the howl of the wind are all there is to hear.

We dive into a cave and them plummet deep into the tunnel leading deeper and deeper into darkness. The hovcraft maneuvers its way smoothly in the bowels of the mountain. So many tunnels and sections are crossed that it would be nearly impossible to track this place down. At this depth, the thickness of the rock alone would be enough to avoid nearly any wave-length signature to escape from the Weapons Research Lab, so coms have to be quantum or gamma radiation based.

This amount of safe keeping a secret means Ferfasser has created something he considers threatening enough.

“Does the ÆTAS know you have this place? And what you do inside it?”

“Not yet,” says Ferfasser. “Soon enough. Once Hai is defeated, our servers will be vulnerable. This data is highly encrypted, but not unhackable. As far as we know, nothing inside this facility has been leaked to the enemy.
